Pepe Reina would relish the chance of playing for Barcelona again, according to the Liverpool goalkeeper's father.

Pepe Reina's father has revealed that the Liverpool goalkeeper would be "more than delighted" to join Barcelona.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a move back to the Camp Nou following Victor Valdes's announcement that he will not extend his current contract with the Blaugrana that runs out in June 2014.

"I am absolutely convinced that Pepe would be more than delighted to return to his Barcelona," The Mirror quotes Reina's father Miguel as saying.

"They made him into an upstanding man from the time he arrived at the age of 12 until he left. I say it publicly, I would be delighted to see Pepe back at Barca, of course I would.

"He would be up to the task and would make an ideal keeper for them."

Reina made 30 La Liga appearances for Barcelona before leaving them for Villarreal in 2002.
