Liverpool reportedly reject a loan approach from La Liga outfit Sevilla for striker Daniel Sturridge.

Liverpool have reportedly turned down an approach from Sevilla to take Daniel Sturridge on loan for the rest of the season.

The 28-year-old remains down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp and has made just five starts for the Reds so far this term, leading the player to look for an exit route this month as he looks to put himself in contention for the World Cup.

The Reds have reportedly slapped a price tag of £30m on the England international - a valuation that is said to be deterring many potential suitors, who will also have to contend with his £150,000-a-week wages.

According to the Daily Mail, Sevilla have made an offer to take Sturridge for the remainder of the campaign and cover his wages in their entirety, but the notion was immediately dismissed by Liverpool's technical director Michael Edwards.

The newspaper says that the club remain firm in their stance on the player and will only allow him to depart this month on a permanent deal and for a "substantial" compensation package.

Serie A side Inter Milan are also said to have made a loan offer for Sturridge in recent days.
