Liverpool are reportedly preparing a bid for Patrick Roberts and are willing to loan the youngster back to Fulham for the season.

Fulham youngster Patrick Roberts has reportedly been made a transfer target of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 17-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs in recent months, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

However, the Reds are prepared to steal a march on other potential suitors by submitting a bid for the England youth international in the near future, according to Goal.com.

The report adds that Liverpool would be prepared to loan Roberts back to Fulham for the remainder of the ongoing campaign.

It is believed that Roberts is a boyhood Liverpool supporter, with his parents having been born on Merseyside.
