Sky Bet suspend betting following rumours that Liverpool are poised to sign Southampton striker Rickie Lambert.

Betting has been suspended by Sky Bet following an influx of punters putting money on Southampton striker Rickie Lambert joining Liverpool this summer.

Rumours have spread on social media claiming that the 32-year-old, who is a Liverpool fan, could move to Anfield on a two-year deal.

Shortly after the rumours emerged, Sky Bet posted on their Twitter page: "We've suspended betting on Rickie Lambert's next club following a large volume of bets on him moving to #LFC."

Lambert, who played for Southampton since 2009, is currently with the England squad ahead of the World Cup in Brazil next month.
