Kolo Toure: 'Liverpool will learn from this season'

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure believes that lessons learned from this season will help the team to challenge for the title again next term.

Kolo Toure believes that Liverpool will learn lessons from this season in order to mount another challenge for the Premier League title next year.

The Reds finished the campaign second in the table, two points adrift of champions Manchester City.

Toure believes that the experience of this season will stand his team in good stead.

"There is nothing to be disappointed about," he told the Liverpool Echo. "It has been a great season for the club. Nobody expected us to be where we were. I think we did everything we could but at the end City won it. We fought right until the end.

"What was the difference? Experience. They have been winning the Premier League already and for us at the crucial time we made a few bad decisions, which is part of the game.

"We will gain experience by making those mistakes and losing the title like we did. I am sure that will give us the strength to be better next year."

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been voted Manager of the Year by the League Managers' Association after guiding the club to their second-place finish.
