Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel: 'Still a long way to go in title race'

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel insists that there is still a "long way to go" in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has insisted that he and his teammates are not getting ahead of themselves with regards to the Premier League title race.

The Merseyside outfit remain at the top of the table with a two-point lead following Sunday's 2-1 win over West Ham United.

The Reds, who will take on fellow title chasers Manchester City this weekend, can lift the trophy if they win all of their remaining five games in the campaign.

"Things are going well, but there is still a long way to go," Skrtel told the Liverpool Echo. "We can't look too far ahead.

"We need to keep going game to game and now our focus is on getting three points against Manchester City. We will look forward to that challenge. We know the atmosphere created by our fans will be amazing."

City reside four points behind Liverpool with two games in hand.
