Brendan Rodgers: 'Win more important than performance'

Brendan Rodgers claims that the three points were more important than Liverpool's performance following Sunday's 3-2 win over Norwich City.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that the three points were more important than his side's performance following Sunday's 3-2 win over Norwich City.

The Reds moved five points clear at the top of the Premier League table thanks to a narrow victory at Carrow Road.

Raheem Sterling scored twice for the Merseysiders, while Luis Suarez also found the net on a nervy day for the leaders.

"The most important thing was to get three points and also the performance level," Rodgers is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "We are on 96 goals now and our idea is to get 100 plus - that would be an incredible effort.

"We will go into the next three games looking to perform well. We want to continue to fight and now look to Chelsea next week - where it will be an incredible atmosphere at Anfield."

Liverpool host title rivals Chelsea at Anfield next Sunday.
