Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers relishing "big game" against Manchester United

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that he and his players are "looking forward to" this Sunday's clash against bitter rivals Manchester United.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has urged his players to retain focus for this Sunday's clash against bitter rivals Manchester United.

The Reds will travel to Old Trafford second in the Premier League table, seven points adrift of leaders Chelsea with one game in hand.

United currently reside sixth in the standings, nine points behind a Champions League spot in the table during manager David Moyes's first season in charge following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.

"We have been terrific for the last 14 months or so and the club is on a real high," Rodgers told talkSPORT. "That's big credit to the players and all the staff, who are working tirelessly every day.

"Sunday is a game we are really looking forward to. For us it's about retaining the focus. We know it's a big game but we've done well in a lot of the big games this season."

Liverpool secured a slender 1-0 win over United at Anfield earlier this season.
