Brendan Rodgers: 'Liverpool need more improvements to challenge'

Brendan Rodgers insists that there is still a long way to go before Liverpool have the "quality" to challenge the top Premier League sides.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested that he does not have enough quality in his team to challenge the top Premier League sides.

The Merseyside outfit are currently at the top of the league table with a 100% record following their 1-0 victory over Manchester United on September 1.

"We still need to make improvements," the Daily Mail quotes Rodgers as saying. "Tottenham have spent £100m to try and get in the top four. It will take another few windows to get that quality in the group."

Rodgers will take the Reds to his former club Swansea City on Monday evening.
