Brendan Rodgers hails "outstanding" Liverpool

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers praises his team for putting in an "outstanding" performance to draw 2-2 with Arsenal.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hailed his side for showing "outstanding" character to earn a 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

The Reds snatched a point in the dying seconds at Anfield on Sunday as Martin Skrtel headed home after Fabio Borini had been sent off.

Despite failing to convert their dominance into a victory, Rodgers is happy with how his players fought back to avoid a second consecutive defeat in the Premier League.

"It was an outstanding performance," he told BBC Sport. "Our passing and movement on the pitch, which is terrible, was superb.

"I'm delighted with our performances this week against Manchester United, Bournemouth and Arsenal. It shows we are getting back to where we are.

"There's no doubt we deserved to win the game, our performance level was outstanding. Our performance today was better then when we won here last year 5-1."

Sunday's draw has seen Liverpool climb up to 10th place in the Premier League table.
