Report: Steven Gerrard to return earlier than expected

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is reportedly expected to return from a hamstring injury earlier than first thought.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is reportedly expected to return from his hamstring injury earlier than first feared.

The Reds' skipper was initially thought to be out for around six weeks after picking up the problem in their 4-1 win against West Ham United on Saturday.

However, Gerrard is only going to miss a month of action, according to the Daily Mail.

Gerrard is still likely to miss the hectic festive period that sees the Reds play Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea as well as Cardiff City and Hull City.
