Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly preparing to offer a coaching contract to ex-midfielder Gary McAllister.
Former Leeds United boss McAllister, who was part of the Reds' treble-winning squad of 2001, has been without a club since leaving Aston Villa in 2011.
Sean O'Driscoll was appointed as the Reds' assistant boss last week, and McAllister is next in line to become part of the backroom staff at Anfield, according to The Express.
Rodgers is in the process of overhauling his coaching staff after Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh were sacked at the end of last season, and the Northern Irishman recently added Pepijn Lijnders to his team as a first-team coach.
