Charlie Adam out for remainder of season

Charlie Adam will not feature for Liverpool again this season due to a knee injury, manager Kenny Dalglish confirms.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has confirmed that midfielder Charlie Adam will play no part in the club's remaining matches this season due to a knee injury.

The former Blackpool playmaker has not appeared for the Reds since leaving the field during the Merseyside club's 3-2 defeat to Queens Park Rangers last month.

The Scotsman, who moved to Anfield from Bloomfield Road in the summer for a fee in the region of £9m, will miss Liverpool's final four Premier League matches as well as the club's FA Cup final against Chelsea on May 5.

Meanwhile, the Scottish boss has confirmed that Steven Gerrard will return to captain the side against Norwich City on Saturday after being rested for the Reds' 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion last weekend as a precaution.
