Adam Lallana: 'Liverpool deserved to beat Arsenal'

Adam Lallana believes that Liverpool deserved to beat Arsenal following their dramatic 2-2 draw at Anfield.

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has claimed that his side deserved to beat Arsenal following Sunday's 2-2 draw at Anfield.

The Reds needed a late equaliser from Martin Skrtel to earn a point against the Gunners after going down to 10 men with the dismissal of Fabio Borini.

Despite leaving it until stoppage time to bag themselves a share of the spoils, Lallana believes that Liverpool were dominant enough to secure a win.

"I thought we were the dominant team," the England international told Sky Sports News. "We created enough chances to get the win. Great credit to Martin Skrtel and the lads, with 10 men to get that was the least we deserved.

"It was massively important we got something from the game. We can take momentum from that goal into the Christmas period and need to start turning draws and performances into wins."

Liverpool continue their Premier League campaign on Boxing Day when they make the trip to Burnley.
