Jordan Henderson: 'We deserved to win Merseyside derby'

Jordan Henderson claims that Liverpool deserved three points after their 1-1 draw with Everton at Anfield on Saturday.

Jordan Henderson believes that Liverpool deserved to win after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Toffees captain Phil Jagielka struck a stunning stoppage-time equaliser to snatch a point for the visitors and Henderson thought that his team were unfortunate not to take all three points against their fierce local rivals at Anfield.

The England international told Liverpool's official website: "I thought we dominated the game and deserved to win. That's football - you're going to get blows like that at times. You've just got to keep going and it's about how you react in the next game.

"The performance level was much better, back to where we expect it to be, with more intensity and more pressure on the ball.

"We were getting the ball back quicker and were more fluent going forward. Performance-wise, we can be very pleased. But we're really disappointed we haven't come away with the three points."

The draw means that the Reds are now without a victory in their last three Premier League games.
