Jordan Henderson: 'Liverpool have room for improvement'

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson backs his side to build on a strong start and make further strides this season.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has declared that there is plenty of room for improvement at Anfield, despite a strong start to their Premier League campaign.

The Reds sit top of the table after three matches, taking maximum points from games against Stoke City, Aston Villa and Manchester United thanks to the goals of Daniel Sturridge.

Henderson thinks that Liverpool can take heart from a 100% start to the season, while remaining focused on making further strides under Brendan Rodgers in search of a top-four finish.

He told The Mirror: "We've got a lot of momentum after the first three games of the season. Beating Manchester United gave us a great boost, and it kept the winning mentality and the momentum going.

"But we know that it's going to be difficult in our next few games, so we'll have to keep focused and hopefully we can keep putting in performances like that. There's always room for improvement and I'm sure we'll work on that. But we've got to be very pleased with the three results.

"We'll continue to keep working and keep building by working hard on the training ground. A lot of the lads are now on international duty, but from the people who are here, there's a good aura about the place."

Liverpool are back in action when the domestic calendar resumes next weekend, with a trip to Swansea City on September 16.
