Rene Girard: Divock Origi is "striker of the future"

Lille manager Rene Girard believes that on-loan Liverpool forward Divock Origi is the "striker of the future".

Rene Girard has described Divock Origi as a "striker of the future" following his strong form in front of goal for Lille so far this season.

The 19-year-old joined Liverpool this summer, but was loaned back to Lille for the season, where he has scored three goals in five league appearances.

The manager told ESPN: "I'm happy with Origi's display, he did some very good things. He showed that he's a great striker of the future. If you compare him to [Samuel] Eto'o and [Romelu] Lukaku, there's not a lot of difference."

Lille played to a goalless draw with Everton in the Europa League earlier this week.
