Robbie Fowler impressed with Liverpool so far this season

Robbie Fowler has claimed that he is "more than happy" with Liverpool's form so far this season.

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes that the Reds are on the right track after their first three Premier League games.

The Merseyside outfit opened their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Southampton, but succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Manchester City in their next fixture.

However, Liverpool were able to respond by securing an emphatic 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane last Sunday.

"At this stage of the season it's about teams trying to galvanise and get used to each other again," Fowler told the club's official website. "I'm more than happy so far.

"The second-half performance against Manchester City was perhaps not as good as the first half, but you have to say the display against Tottenham Hotspur was brilliant.

"Every player stood up to be counted. As a manager and supporter you always want to see a reaction after a defeat and we got that."

After the international break, Liverpool will take on Aston Villa on September 13.
