The FA reportedly hopes to persuade new Liverpool signing Tiago Ilori to consider playing for England.

The Football Association will reportedly ask new Liverpool signing Tiago Ilori to consider playing for England.

The 20-year-old defender, who joined the Reds from Sporting Lisbon on transfer deadline day, was born in England before representing Portugal at junior level.

Officials at the FA are now keen to persuade the youngster to make a decision over his international future, according to the Daily Mail.

Ilori joined Liverpool for a fee of around £7m.
