Live Commentary: Norwich City 2-5 Liverpool - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live coverage as Norwich City and Liverpool go in search of their first Premier League wins of the season.

Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of Liverpool's trip to Norwich City.

Both of these sides head into this Carrow Road encounter without a Premier League win under their belts this season. As a result, hosting Norwich find themselves 17th in the table, while visiting Liverpool are a place below.

However, a victory today could potentially lift either team up to the relative safety of mid-table.

Stay tuned to find out whether it will be Chris Hughton or Brendan Rodgers who secures their first three points in charge of the their new clubs in the 3pm fixture.

4.52pmThank you for joining our coverage of the events at Carrow Road this afternoon. Be sure to look out for our match analysis, which will be coming your way shortly.

4.51pmBoos ring out as the referee calls time on the game. Norwich supporters are not happy with what they have seen there. In contrast, the Liverpool fans are in full voice as their side leave the pitch. It was a really good performance from the Reds.

4.50pmFULL TIME: Norwich 2-5 Liverpool

90 minFour minutes of stoppage time to be played...

88 minClinical finish from Holt from close range. It's his first of the season. It means little in this game, but in terms of the remainder of the season it could be a big goal for his confidence.

86 minGOAL! Norwich 2-5 Liverpool (Holt)

83 minThis, unsurprisingly, has turned into a bit of a training match. Norwich look like a team desperate for the final whistle.

78 minSUBSTITUTION: Norwich's goalscorer Morison is replaced by Tettey.

75 minEvery successful pass that Liverpool make is being greeted with cheers by the away supporters. They haven't seen their side dominate like this in a long time.

73 minSUBSTITUTION: Glen Johnson jogs off, veteran Jamie Carragher comes on. Liverpool in cruise control.

71 minWe may only be a few matches into the season, but on the evidence of this, it's going to be a long old season for Norwich. Yes Liverpool have played well, but the Canaries have been woeful!

69 minIf ever a goal summed up this match for Norwich, it's this one! Gerrard feeds Sterling, who skips clear of the Norwich defence. The young winger then cuts the ball back for his captain, whose shot deflects past a helpless Ruddy. Great for Liverpool, nightmare for Norwich!

68 minGOAL! Norwich 1-5 Liverpool (Gerrard)

65 minSUBSTITUTION: Goalscorer Sahin is replaced by Jordan Henderson. That's how easy it is for Liverpool! Only joking Henderson fans...sort of!

61 minAwful from Reina, just awful. Russell Martin fires straight at him but instead of taking the catch, the keeper pushes the ball straight to Morison, who buries the rebound. Sums up Reina's season to date.

60 minGOAL! Norwich 1-4 Liverpool (Morison)

59 minSUBSTITUTION: The impressive Suso is given a breather as Oussama Assaidi comes on for his Premier League debut.

57 minHe did it last year at Carrow Road and he's done it again! A treble for Suarez. The Uruguayan has far too much time on the edge of the area and he bends the ball past Ruddy. Brilliant finish. Norwich have been so poor at the back.

56 minGOAL! Norwich 0-4 Liverpool (Suarez, hat-trick)

55 minSUBSTITUTION: Surman comes off to be replaced by Wes Hoolahan. The home faithful give the Irishman a big cheer - they clearly feel he should have started this match.

52 minCHANCE! That is two sitters that Norwich have missed now. A goalmouth scramble falls to Surman eight yards from goal. However, the midfielder scuffs the ball wide of the target. Sums up his side's afternoon.

50 minThis is far too easy for Liverpool. They're having fun out there. It really could be a landslide victory if they keep going.

48 minHow silly does Snodgrass feel now? Very I'd guess! Suarez gets the ball on the left hand side of the area and shows good vision to pick out Sahin, who sweeps the ball beyond Ruddy from 10 yards. Game over (probably!)

47 minGOAL! Norwich 0-3 Liverpool (Sahin)

46 minWHAT A MISS! Norwich should be back in this. Morison lifts the ball in for Surman, who shoots goalwards. The ball is going in, but Norwich midfielder Snodgrass somehow turns the ball over the bar from two yards out.

45 minSUBSTITUTION: Norwich have reacted to their first-half battering by bringing on Grant Holt in place of Jackson.

3.53pmHere's some half-time reading for you in the form of our 45-minute report from Carrow Road.

3.48pmWell, the less said about that half the better as far as Norwich are concerned! They've been well and truly beaten in every department so far. Suarez, Suso, Sterling and Sahin (the 4 s's!) all looking bright for Liverpool, who should be leading by a greater margin.

3.46pmHALF-TIME: Norwich 0-2 Liverpool

45 minOne minute of stoppage time to be played...

43 minLiverpool in complete control of this match as the half draws nearer to completion. Brendan Rodger's only complaint can be the fact that his side haven't scored more than two goals!

38 minWhat a 20 seconds for Suarez! He missed an absolute sitter when he shot wide. However, Norwich give the ball away and the Uruguayan punishes the sloppiness by slotting into the net with the outside of his right foot. Brilliant finish and you have to say Liverpool deserve it.

36 minGOAL! Norwich 0-2 Liverpool (Suarez)

32 minCHANCE! Really good play between Suarez and Gerrard. The captain heads goalwards but Ruddy gets fingertips to the ball and pushes the ball clear. Almost 2-0.

29 minSome more good football from Liverpool ends with a dangerous cross from skipper Gerrard being hastily cleared by the Norwich defence.

25 minCHANCE! Big opportunity for Norwich. Morison nods the ball down for striker partner Jackson inside the area, but the Canadian volleys high, wide and not very handsome.

24 minRodgers does not look a happy man with the ref's decision not to give his team a penalty there. The Norwich squad actually appealed for Suarez to be booked there for diving. The cheek!

22 minPENALTY APPEAL! Suarez goes down under a challenge from Barnett inside the area, but referee Martin Atkinson is having none of it. Looked a clear penalty to me, Barnett was extremely clumsy there. However, you get the impression Suarez has been the victim of his own reputation there.

18 minCHANCE! Fantastic work between Suso and Suarez ends with the latter crossing deep for Sterling. The England winger tries to head the ball back for Sahin, but the danger is cleared. Had Sahin gained possession, he had a shot on goal from six yards out.

16 minSurman is beginning to get into this match now. He's Norwich's main ball player and someone that is capable of causing problems to the Liverpool rearguard.

14 minThe hosting Canaries string a five-pass move together which ends with Jonny Howson lining up a 25-yard shot. However, Agger gets out to block.

11 minThat Jackson chance aside, it really has been all Liverpool during the opening exchanges here. Norwich chasing shadows at the moment.

8 minCHANCE! And just as I say that, Norwich almost go level. Russell Martin crosses for Jackson, whose volleyed effort is turned onto the post by Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina. That's better from the Canaries.

7 minIt's still all Liverpool here. They are keep the ball with relative ease at the moment. Youngster Suso in particular is looking lively.

4 minCHANCE! It should be 2-0 Liverpool. Sahin whips in a great free-kick for Agger, who heads over when he should have scored. Norwich need to wake up, and quick.

2 minWow! I don't actually think Norwich have touched the ball yet. Raheem Sterling was instrumental in that move. He found Luis Suarez inside the box and the striker showed great composure to guide the ball past Ruddy from 12 yards out. Norwich will be sick of the sight of Suarez - he got a hat-trick against them last season!

1 minGOAL! Norwich 0-1 Liverpool (Suarez)

1 minLiverpool get us underway...

2.59pmBefore we get underway, we're going to have a minutes silence for former Norwich manager John Bond, who died at the age of 79 earlier this week.

2.56pmThe players are out and the pre-match handshakes are taking place. Almost game time...

2.54pm...I'm going to back Liverpool to claim their first win of the season here. In fairness they've performed well this season, without getting the positive results. 1-2 to the visitors.

2.52pmSo, prediction time...

2.50pmAll talk about Holt and he's not even playing for Norwich! Hughton has gone with a partnership of Steve Morison and Simeon Jackson. Bit of a surprise that I must say.

2.49pmNorwich: Ruddy; R. Martin, Barnett, Turner, Garrido; Johnson, Howson, Snodgrass, Surman; Morison, Jackson

2.46pmBit of surprise in that Liverpool starting lineup as Andre Wisdom makes his Premier League debut and young Spaniard Suso makes his first start. Nuri Sahin also features from the beginning.

2.45pmLiverpool: Reina; Johnson, Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger; Sahin, Allen, Gerrard, Sterling, Suso; Suarez

2.42pmTeam news coming up shortly...

2.38pmTalking of Holt, he scored a brilliant header at Anfield last season in a 1-1 draw between the two sides. It was proper centre-forward's goal. Power, determination and accuracy.

2.34pmOne concern for the Canaries will be the form of skipper Grant Holt. The 31-year-old hit 15 Premier League goals last season, but is yet to find the net this time around.

2.32pmAnd what of Norwich? Well, some pundits seems to fear that they are suffering with the dreaded 'second season syndrome.' They were quite superb under Paul Lambert last season. Under Chris Hughton though, they are yet to reach those heights.

2.30pmAs mentioned above they are yet to win in the Premier League season. However, former winger John Barnes told Sports Mole earlier this week that he is anticipating a victory for the Reds today.

2.25pmIt's Liverpool's position of 18th that is the surprising one for me. Granted they've got a new manager and a handful of new managers, but surely they're not that bad, are they?

2.19pm...Only joking Norwich and Liverpool fans! Although, if your teams carry on churning out the results they currently are, it could well be the next time they meet at Anfield!

2.16pmAfternoon everyone. Looks like we have a relegation six-pointer on our hands this afternoon...
