Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling expects to face Arsenal

Raheem Sterling says that he should be fit for Liverpool's next Premier League game against Arsenal after pulling out of England's squad with a toe injury.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has revealed that he should be fit to face Arsenal on Easter weekend after pulling out of the England squad.

Sterling scored his first international goal in last night's 4-0 win over Lithuania in Euro 2016 qualifying, but won't play for his country in Tuesday's friendly against Italy because of a toe infection.

The 20-year-old is to have an injection and doesn't expect the issue to keep him out of next weekend's big game in the top-four race.

"I will get this injection now and see how it goes in the next few days. Hopefully I will be okay for the Arsenal game," PA quotes him as saying.

Sterling's first England goal arrived on his 14th senior appearance as the Three Lions continued their 100% record in qualifying.
