James Milner targets return against Manchester City

Liverpool midfielder James Milner reveals that he hopes to return from a hamstring injury against Manchester City next weekend.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has revealed that he expects his hamstring injury to be a short-term problem and hopes to return for the club's fixture with Manchester City.

Milner was forced to withdraw from England's squad to face Spain and France, but the former City player is keen to feature at the Etihad Stadium on November 21.

The 29-year-old told the club's official website: "It shouldn't be too long and hopefully I'll be back for the next game, but we'll have to wait and see.

"You never like to put a time-frame on it because it's a hamstring and they're always difficult and a bit unpredictable, but hopefully I'll be alright. It's disappointing, but these things happen and hopefully I'll be back soon."

Milner has scored once in 14 appearances since his move to Anfield in the summer.
