Midfielder Joe Allen replaces Lucas Leiva, while striker Christian Benteke, who has not played since the 1-1 draw with Norwich City on 20 September, is on the bench alongside Roberto Firmino.
On the bench for Rubin Kazan, meanwhile, sits midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who made over 70 appearances for Everton between 2009 and 2012.
Liverpool are currently two points behind Sion, level with Bordeaux and one point above the visiting Russian outfit.
