Nigel Pearson hopes to strengthen defence

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson hopes to bring in a centre-back for the new season.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has admitted that a centre-half is at the top of his shopping list this summer as he looks to boost his squad.

The Foxes have recently found themselves light at the back following the deaprtures of Matt Mills, Sol Bamba and Aleksandar Tunchev.

"With Sol and Matt Mills leaving, we clearly need to bring in a centre-back," said Pearson.

"That apart, we'll see what we can do. We may do some more business. It is important to try and keep the balance in the squad right and improve the quality."

Leicester kick off their Championship campaign at home to Peterborough United on Saturday, August 28.
