Jerome Thomas against Leeds United stay

Jerome Thomas says that he wants to fight for his place at West Bromwich Albion rather than extend his loan spell at Leeds United.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Jerome Thomas has revealed that he is against a permanent move to Leeds United.

The out-of-favour Albion player moved to Elland Road on loan in November and has enjoyed a successful spell in the Championship, with manager Neil Warnock keen to keep hold of the player.

However, the 29-year-old insists that his future lies with the Baggies, and has never wanted to extend his stay at Leeds.

"Extending my loan was never really an option," said Thomas. "It was always a case of going out and getting some games.

"I am fully focused on West Brom and until I hear anything different that will stay the case.

"I have still got another six months on my contract, and that is a chance for me to help the club push on. I am happy and have been for a few years, so I have no plans to move."

Thomas could face a run in the Albion side, after Zoltan Gera was ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
