The chief executive officer of GFH Capitol, who could complete a takeover of Leeds United by the end of the month, describes the club as "a young Pamela Anderson".

Bahrain-based company Gulf Finance House (GFH) could complete a takeover deal of Leeds United "within three weeks".

That is the view of GFH's chief executive officer David Haigh, who opened negotiations with Leeds chairman Ken Bates in June, and he has described the Championship club as "a young Pamela Anderson".

Haigh told The Sun: "Leeds is like a young Pamela Anderson. It's in great shape, with superb assets and a great future ahead of her.

"Like any big acquisition, we have to be thorough and that's the process we're going through right now. We're almost there and, hopefully, within three weeks it could be done.

"We are working incredibly hard to get the deal done but there are procedures and rules which must be followed."

Manager Neil Warnock has led Leeds to seventh in the Championship table.
