Dave Hockaday willing to be patient in transfer market

Dave Hockaday admits that Leeds United may have to be patient to attract their targets this summer.

Leeds United head coach Dave Hockaday has claimed that the club will have to be patient in the transfer market this summer.

There has been pressure from the fans for money to be spent before the start of the new season following the £11m sale of Ross McCormack to Fulham, but Hockaday is keen to not rush any business.

"I've said before that Leeds had some good players here last season and a number of them have gone, including Ross," the Leeds boss told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"From my point of view, if we need to replace them we will replace them and we'll do that as quickly as we can, but we won't panic and we won't do anything silly.

"We might have to show patience in some positions and some things might move quicker than others, but it's one of those things where if there's a gap to fill, we'll fit it properly and professionally, but if it needs patience, we'll show patience."

Stuart Taylor, Marco Silvestre, Tommaso Bianchi and Souleymane Doukara have moved to Leeds already this summer.
