Live Commentary: League Cup round two draw as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live coverage of the draw from round two of the League Cup as a number of Premier League clubs enter the competition.

Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's coverage of the draw for the second round of the League Cup.

With the opening round having been completed last night, the Premier League clubs that are not involved in European competitions now enter the fray.

To find out who your club will face for a place in round three, follow our live updates right here.

1pmThat's about as far as we go. Hopefully you got the team you were looking for in the draw! Thanks for joining us.

12.58pmIncidentally, those ties will be played the week commencing Monday, August 27.

12.57pmSome decent-looking ties there. A Midlands derby between Coventry and Birmingham looks good, while Tranmere and Crewe travel to Premier League sides Villa and West Ham respectively.

12.56pmAnd that concludes the draw! Phew!

12.51pmWatford vs. Bradford

12.51pmPreston vs. Crystal Palace

12.50pmRight, finally, we are almost underway!

12.49pmJust scanning through those seedings, I've noticed that we could be dealt a Merseyside derby! No, not the one where the Reds take on the Blues! But Tranmere Rovers could take on Everton, which would be a massive draw for the Prenton Park-based side.

12.42pmBut stick with us, the draw should be taking place shortly!

12.41pmIt appears that there is a slight delay in the draw, which is being screened on Sky Sports News. That is down to the England cricket/Kevin Pietersen saga, where fresh developments have just come up. For those that are interested, the latest is here.

12.37pmOne possible tie is West Ham vs. Gillingham, which would see Gills manager Martin Allen come up against the club that he played for. He was on Sky Sports News earlier today saying that it would be the dream draw for him.

12.36pmMeanwhile, these clubs have been unseeded: Barnsley, Bradford City, Burton Albion, Carlisle United, Coventry City, Crawley Town, Crewe Alexandra, Doncaster Rovers, Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Morecambe, MK Dons, Northampton Town, Nottingham Forest, Oxford United, Peterborough United, Plymouth Argyle, Preston North End, Scunthorpe United, Sheffield Wednesday, Stevenage, Swindon Town, Tranmere Rovers, Walsall, Yeovil Town.

12.35pmAll of these clubs have been seeded in the draw: Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Hull City, Ipswich Town,Leeds United, Leicester City, Middlesbrough, Norwich City, Queens Park Rangers, Reading, Southampton, Stoke City, Sunderland, Swansea City, Watford, West Brom, West Ham, Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

12.32pmAs stated above, a number of Premier League clubs get involved at this stage. However, it is only those that has not qualified for Europe. Have to say it confuses me a little as to why most clubs in the top flight do not take this competition seriously. There's a trophy and a place in Europe for the winners after all.

12.28pmAfternoon all, the draw is almost upon us. Let's hope we get some tasty looking draws. The chance of an upset or two wouldn't go amiss either!
