The Swede is eager to add further honours to his glittering CV.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he is "not finished" after signing a new one-year deal with LA Galaxy.

The Swedish striker made a brilliant impact in his debut campaign in MLS, scoring 22 goals and setting up a further 10, but the season ultimately finished in disappointment with a seventh-placed finish in the Western Conference.

However, he has signed on as a designated player for a further year and has targeted trophies in America before he finishes.

"I am not finished yet with MLS," he told the club website. "I have things to do and I see my first year as warming up, the second year will be a big difference because I know the league and I know my opponents more.

"I know how to handle it better now and I know the team more, and I feel physically better.

"Second year I come to finish it."

On his goals for the 2019 season, he added: "It is to bring the trophy home, and not finish like the last game (a 3-2 defeat to Houston Dynamo).

"I came here to leave a stamp and make my team win, and I didn't get to do that. I am not the one who leaves without winning. Everywhere I go I have won.

"The objective of the club is to win because they have the most trophies in MLS, and they want to keep going so that is why I am here.

"I want to lift trophies like the other big players here. I am excited."

General manager Dennis te Kloese added: "We are very pleased to sign Zlatan to a new contract that will see him return for the 2019 season.

"He showed his value last season and we look forward to him representing our club next year. With Zlatan returning, we will continue to improve our team in advance of the season."
