Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy content with point at Bolton Wanderers

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy insists that a draw was a good result at Bolton Wanderers even though the home side did not manage a single shot on target.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has insisted that he is happy with yesterday's goalless draw at Bolton Wanderers, despite the fact that the home side did not muster a single shot on target.

After an even first half of few chances, Ipswich dominated the second 45 but could not make the breakthrough and missed out on the chance to move top of the Championship.

Speaking after the game, McCarthy told the East Anglian Daily Times: "I know second half we were the dominant team, but I thought first half they were the better side slightly.

"They were a bit profligate when they had the chances to create something and didn't. Our goalie hasn't made a save to be honest.

"In the second half we were the better side and there looked like there'd only be one winner, but I was always conscious that they could nick one."

A draw extended Ipswich's unbeaten run to eight games and they have suffered just one defeat in their last 17 in the league.
