Scottish Premiership roundup: Ross County win to close gap on Motherwell

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's action from the Scottish Premiership as Ross County record a huge win over Motherwell in their quest for survival.

Ross County closed the gap on relegation rivals Motherwell with a precious 3-2 win over Ian Baraclough's side at Victoria Park this afternoon.

Goals from Martin Woods, Paul Quinn and Raffaele De Vita secured a vital three points for the Staggies, though they had to survive a late fightback from Motherwell after Fraser Kerr's goal 12 minutes from time dragged the away side back into the tie.

However, Jim McIntyre's men held on for a big win which takes them to within three points of their fellow strugglers in the Scottish Premiership.

Elsewhere, a last-minute goal from Paul McGowan gave Dundee a 1-0 win over Partick Thistle at Dens Park, while first-half strikes from Greg Tansey and Ryan Christie earned Inverness Caledonian Thistle a 2-1 win against St. Mirren.

Kilmarnock closed in on the top six as they battled their way to a 3-2 victory over Dundee United, after going a goal down inside three minutes.

However, Josh Magennis and Christopher Johnston pulled Killie back into the game before Sammy Clingan snatched them all three points in the dying seconds.

Results in full: Dundee 1-0 Partick Thistle, Kilmarnock 3-2 Dundee United, Ross County 3-2 Motherwell, St Mirren 1-2 Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
