The Cameroon international joined the La Liga club on a permanent basis last summer, after impressing during his loan from Queens Park Rangers.
However, he is out of contract at the end of the season and L'Equipe has reported that the two Milan clubs have made initial contact with Mbia in an attempt to sign him.
Mbia is currently on international duty with Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations.
