Fredy Guarin insists that he would not have made the move to Inter Milan but for former Porto coach Andre Villas-Boas.

Fredy Guarin has insisted that he 'owes a lot' to former Porto coach Andre Villas-Boas.

Guarin, 25, joined Inter Milan on loan from Porto in January, and the Colombian has claimed that the Italian side signed him on the advice of Villas-Boas.

"I haven't spoken to him yet, but if I am here at Inter then I owe him a lot. I know Inter asked him about me and he responded with some very important words," Guarin told O Jogo.

Guarin only made his Serie A debut earlier this month after suffering a series of injuries since his January move.
