Long-serving defender Paul McShane shown Hull City exit

Hull City release six players following their relegation to the Championship, including long-serving defender Paul McShane.

Hull City have begun preparations for life back in the Championship by releasing six players from their squad.

Liam Rosenior, Paul McShane and Yannick Sagbo are among those to have been show the KC Stadium exit, while Maynor Figueroa, Steve Harper and Joe Dudgeon have also been released.

McShane has spent the last seven years playing for the Tigers, while Rosenior leaves having made 136 appearances for the Humberside outfit.

"Regrettably, following relegation, we have made the decision to release the majority of those players whose contracts have expired," manager Steve Bruce told the club's official website.

"We would like to place on record our thanks for the service they have given to the club, particularly our two longest-serving players Liam Rosenior and Paul McShane. Both players have been outstanding for us and they leave with our very best wishes for their futures.

"The aim now is to retain as many of the remaining squad as possible and look to add some new faces this summer as we bid to compete at the top end of the Championship and bounce straight back into the top flight".

Hull, who saw their Premier League relegation confirmed on the final day of the season last weekend, have offered new deals to Alex Bruce and Stephen Quinn.
