Steve Bruce critical of Hull City defending

Hull City boss Steve Bruce criticises his team's defending during their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has criticised his team's defending during their 4-1 defeat at home to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

The Tigers were comfortably beaten at the KC Stadium on Saturday as they suffered a second loss in three matches.

"It was disappointing because we started off so brightly and I think what summed the day up, their keeper's made a wonderful, wonderful save, and all of a sudden we're 1-0 down within 30 seconds," Bruce told Sky Sports News.

"But as I've said repeatedly, the one area of the pitch where we've done remarkably well is our ability to defend and today, we made too many mistakes and made it so easy for Newcastle."

Hull's Premier League campaign continues next Saturday with a trip to West Ham United.
