Half-Time Report: Hull City hold two-goal lead over Ipswich Town

Hull City hold a two-goal lead over Ipswich Town after goals from Alex Bruce and Chuba Akpom.

Hull City hold a two-goal lead over Ipswich Town after goals from Alex Bruce and Chuba Akpom.

Both teams started the match well, with Giles Coke and Andrew Robertson having chances for either side.

Abel Hernandez's header was then saved by Dean Gerken in the 12th minute before Jonathan Parr and Larsen Toure had shots blocked by the Hull defence.

Akpom came close to breaking the deadlock on the half-hour mark but his header was saved by Gerken.

Hull did take the lead in the 38th minute, though, when Bruce rose highest to head home Sam Clucas's corner.

The lead was doubled shortly after when Moses Odubajo crossed to Akpom to divert the ball into the net.
