Team News: Ross McCormack starts for Leeds United

Leeds United have Ross McCormack in attack as they take on local rivals Huddersfield Town.

Ross McCormack will lead the attack for Leeds United as they entertain Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town in the Championship, their first game since the sacking of manager Brian McDermott.

Matt Smith is unavailable as he completes his three-game ban, while Luke Varney has been left out of the matchday squad altogether.

Jamie Ashdown (foot) and David Norris (knee) are also missing for United, as is Noel Hunt, who recently returned to full training following an injury.

Huddersfield are without striker James Vaughan, who has a knee problem, so Nahki Wells is partnered up front by Danny Ward.

New signing Joe Lolley is among the Terriers substitutes, but midfielder Jonathan Hogg is sidelined with a hip injury.

Leeds are looking to end a retched run of form that has seen them fail to win any of the last eight games, with their last victory coming at Doncaster in mid-December.

Huddersfield, currently 13th in the Championship, could leapfrog United with a win at Elland Road.

Leeds United: Kenny, Byram, Lees, Pearce, Warnock, Murphy, Austin, Mowatt, Stewart, Kebe, McCormack

Huddersfield Town: Smithies, Wallace, Gerrard, Smith, Dixon, Gobern, Clayton, Norwood, Woods, Wells, Ward
