Houston Dynamo grab last-minute equaliser against New York Red Bulls

Houston Dynamo score a last-minute equaliser as they draw 2-2 with New York Red Bulls in the first leg of their MLS Eastern Conference semi-final playoff.

Houston Dynamo grabbed a last-minute equaliser through Omar Cummings as they drew 2-2 with New York Red Bulls in the first leg of their MLS Eastern Conference semi-final playoff.

The Bulls took the lead in the 22nd minute through former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill after he picked up a cross from Thierry Henry to head his side in front.

The visitors found themselves 2-0 up only a few minutes later as good work from Eric Alexander saw the midfielder move into space, before cutting the ball back and firing past the goalkeeper.

It looked as though the Bulls would cruise into the second leg with a healthy lead, but Ricardo Clark produced a strike from outside the box in the 51st minute to bring Dynamo back into the game.

The hosts were given a chance in the 65th minute when the Bulls were reduced to 10 men after Jamison Olave produced a wild challenge on Cummings.

The Bulls changed formation in order to protect their lead and it seemed like they had managed to do so only for Cummings to equalise with what was to be the last piece of action before the final whistle.
