Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs repeats Scott Allan stance

Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs tells Rangers again that midfielder Scott Allan is not for sale.

Hibernian boss Alan Stubbs has repeated the club's stance that Rangers target Scott Allan is not for sale.

The midfielder was left on the bench for Hibs' 6-2 thrashing by the Gers in the Scottish Challenge Cup first round on Saturday.

Scottish Championship rivals Rangers have reportedly failed with two bids for the 23-year-old in recent weeks.

When asked what the situation involving Allan was, Stubbs told Sky Sports News: "I will answer with three words. Not for sale. I am not going to keep answering questions on it. You have to respect a club's stance when you say a player is not for sale.

"I spoke to him before the game. I don't think it would have been right for me to have put Scott in the game today with what has been going on, the circus of the last few days."

Rangers manager Mark Warburton refused to reveal whether the club was still trying to sign Allan when he was asked about the transfer saga on Friday.
