Groningen are through to the final of the KNVB Cup after a 3-0 win against SBV Excelsior this evening.

Goals from Hans Hateboer, Albert Rusnak and Tjaronn Chery saw the home side through to meet PEC Zwolle.

Hateboer netted for the home side five minutes before half time by showing great determination to get ahead of his marker before hammering home a powerful effort.

Rusnak then gave Groningen some breathing space eight minutes into the second period when he curled home a strike into the bottom corner.

Chery wrapped the game up with two minutes of normal time remaining to set up the clash with PEC.
