Deon Burton's 11th goal of the season fired the Gills into first place as they beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1.

The Football League's top scorers Port Vale slipped up, losing 1-0 at home to Morecambe.

Jacques Maghoma helped himself to a brace in Burton Albion's 4-0 demolition of 10-man Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers continued their revival with a 1-0 victory over Wycombe.

At the bottom of the table, veteran Gary Alexander scored an injury-time winner as struggling Wimbledon defeated Bradford 2-1. Barnet gave themselves some breathing space with a 2-1 defeat of York.

Northampton Town crept into the playoff places as former Sunderland player Roy O'Donovan netted in their 2-1 away victory, while lowly Aldershot grabbed a point at Cheltenham despite the sending off of Anthony Tonkin.
