Pedro Leon hoping for "a nice season"

Getafe midfielder Pedro Leon says that he is keen to avoid another difficult campaign with the Spanish club.

Getafe midfielder Pedro Leon has admitted that he is desperate for his team to avoid having to "rough it" in La Liga this season.

The 28-year-old joined Getafe from Real Valladolid in 2009 and helped the capital side finish sixth in Spain's top flight during his first season.

That led to a move to Real Madrid, before Leon returned to Getafe in 2011, initially on loan before re-signing permanently in 2013.

The Madrid-based club have finished 13th and 15th respectively in their last two La Liga campaigns, and Leon is keen for his team to "enjoy a nice season" this time around.

"We're very excited about this year. We want the fans to support us and hopefully have a good year. I hope to score as many goals as possible and help the team," AS quotes Leon as saying.

"This is my sixth season here. The first was great because we got into Europe. The next two were a step and the last two have been nothing good. Hopefully we enjoy this year.

"I hope that first season is a mirror in which we look at ourselves and the fans continue to support us as they have in the last few games. The goal is to not rough it and to add as many points as possible and enjoy a nice season."

Getafe currently sit 15th in La Liga having claimed 10 points from their 11 matches thus far this season.
