Bastian Schweinsteiger expresses his gratitude towards the Germany supporters after he and his teammates defeated Argentina to win the World Cup.

Bastian Schweinsteiger delivered a special mention to Germany's supporters following their World Cup glory in Brazil.

The Bayern Munich midfielder helped his nation secure their fourth World Cup title after Mario Gotze netted in extra time to seal a 1-0 victory over Argentina last night.

"We'll enjoy the moment, it's unbelievable," FIFA.com quotes Schweinsteiger as saying. "Thank you to the whole of Germany for your support. We could feel how much you have got behind us here.

"It was an unbelievable performance, but how the boys on the bench have got into it is something I have never experienced before. That gave us so much power, now because of it we have won the World Cup."

Germany were also responsible for one of the heaviest defeats in tournament history when they stunned Brazil 7-1 in the semi-finals.
