Miroslav Klose 'fully confident' of World Cup glory

Germany striker Miroslav Klose says that his side have a "fantastic chance" of pipping Argentina to World Cup glory this Sunday.

Miroslav Klose has revealed that he is "full of confidence" that Germany can pip Argentina to World Cup glory in Sunday's final in Rio.

Joachim Low's side booked their place at the Maracana by thumping host nation Brazil 7-1 in a morale-boosting win in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday night.

Having been a part of the Germany team that lost to Brazil in the final back in 2002, Klose knows all about falling at the final hurdle, but the 36-year-old claims that his side have a "fantastic chance" to make amends this year.

"I know how bad it feels to lose a final," he told reporters.

"We enjoyed the game against Brazil, but since the other semi-final our full concentration has been on the game against Argentina.

"The team spirit is fantastic, everyone has done very well in training, giving everything. I am full of confidence that we have a fantastic chance of winning."

The veteran forward usurped Brazil legend Ronaldo as the competition's most prolific marksman of all time after his strike on Tuesday took him to 16 World Cup goals.

Sunday's clash is scheduled to kick off at 8pm.
