Mats Hummels has called on his Germany teammates to show "passion" during their World Cup semi-final against Brazil.

The Germans reached the last four on Friday as Hummels's goal earned them a 1-0 win over France in Rio de Janeiro.

"We defended well and with passion. We need more of that in our next games," the defender, 25, is quoted as saying by FIFA.com.

Germany play Brazil on Tuesday night for a spot in the World Cup final.
