Rio Ferdinand hails "immense" Jerome Boateng

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand brands Germany centre-back Jerome Boateng "immense" following his performance in tonight's World Cup final.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has branded Germany centre-back Jerome Boateng "immense" following his performance in tonight's World Cup final.

Germany and Argentina are currently playing the early stages of extra time after the pair could not be separated during the 90 minutes.

"Boetang has been immense today. Hummels lacking mobility, outside the box been left a few times. Garay & DiMicheles been very good too," tweeted Ferdinand.

Germany are bidding to become the first European team to win the World Cup on South American soil.
