Fulham and Villa settle for a frustrating goalless draw at Craven Cottage.

Fulham and Villa had a frustrating start to the season with a goalless draw at Craven Cottage.

Martin Jol's side, who have been competing in the Europa League since the end of June, failed to build on their strong home record - despite having nine attempts on target.

Bobby Zamora started for the Whites, despite suffering a broken hand, while summer signing John Arne Riise made his debut for the club.

Villa now play host to Blackburn next Saturday, while Fulham travel to the Midlands to face Wolves on Sunday.
