Sascha Riether: 'Fulham must keep improving'

Sascha Riether is aware that Fulham will only survive this season if the players maintain their current level of performance.

Fulham right-back Sascha Riether has highlighted the importance of the club continuing to improve their performances following the 2-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend.

The West London side took the three points after two much-improved showings under head coach Rene Meulensteen and Riether is confident that if the performances improve the Whites will manage to pull themselves to safety.

"We had a good game against Tottenham Hotspur and we deserved more but it was very important we won against Aston Villa," Riether told the club's official website. "There are a lot of games to go and if we continue like that we'll get out of trouble.

"It's not easy if you lose six or seven games in a row; it's normal that you're not confident. But we've got a very experienced team and we can handle it. Football is in the head. Our head was very good on Wednesday and Sunday and I hope we can go on like that."

Fulham's win against Villa was their first for seven games.
