Martin Jol: "I don't feel pressure"

Fulham boss Martin Jol insists that things could be worse despite the Cottagers suffering two defeats in three days and exiting the League Cup.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has insisted that he does not feel under pressure in the aftermath of their League Cup last-16 exit at the hands of Championship outfit Leicester City.

The Cottagers came out on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night, with Lloyd Dyer grabbing the Foxes' late winner in their 4-3 victory.

The defeat comes three days after a 2-0 loss at Southampton which leaves Jol's side 14th in the Premier League table, but the Dutchman has insisted that things could be worse.

"I don't feel pressure because we're not bottom of the league, there are six or seven other teams on similar points and lower," he told reporters. "If people tell me I've got pressure then I've got pressure but for me it's no problem.

"There are a few teams on 10 and 11 points so we have to come up with a surprise result [against United or Liverpool] and if not we have to get the points against the other teams we play against.

"A season is more than two games. Of course it is not great after the Southampton game. We played an almost perfect second half against Palace (a 4-1 win) and we played the same team and lost against Southampton so we have to pick ourselves up."

Fulham's next two top-flight games are against Manchester United and Liverpool.
