Blackpool hold full-strength Fulham

Blackpool go close to an FA Cup shock at Fulham, who earn a replay thanks to a late equaliser from Giorgos Karagounis.

Fulham survived in the FA Cup this afternoon courtesy of a late equaliser against a resolute Blackpool at Craven Cottage.

Martin Jol decided to name an unchanged XI for the tie but both sides struggled to create chances in a drab first 45 minutes.

Things improved after the break but it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play when Ludovic Sylvestre smashed home from inside the penalty area.

Fulham felt aggrieved about a handball in the build-up and responded quickly to the setback in an effort to find an equaliser.

A deep defence frustrated the Premier League side, who introduced Kieran Richardson to try to find a telling pass.

Thomas Ince looked lively for Blackpool on the counter and his late drive across goal kept the home side on their toes.

Fulham finally drew level with 10 minutes to go when Giorgos Karagounis took advantage of a poorly-cleared corner to guide a composed finish home.

Jol's men pressed for a winner in the closing stages but a dogged Blackpool defence held firm to earn Michael Appleton's side a replay.
